I’ve always had mixed feelings about the word “Destiny.”
To me, people often use it as a comfort zone. When they’re too lazy to try or too scared to fail, they just shrug and say, “Oh, it’s destiny.” It’s the perfect excuse for lacking the confidence to take charge of their own lives. If you want to be a photographer but hate holding a camera, or want to be an actor but are too afraid to act-that’s not fate. That’s just a choice you’re making.
But here’s the funny part: the more you hate something, the more you seem to attract it.
I’ve seen this happen countless times. Take those friends who used to fight like cats and dogs in class, swearing they’d never be together. Fast forward a few years? They’re dating. What the hell, right? Some might call that fate-like the sun always rising in the east or dark clouds inevitably bringing rain. Sometimes, life does hand us things we didn’t ask for.
However, the truth is that things happen because of the choices we make and the actions we take.
If you hate something but keep putting yourself in its path, don’t be surprised when it sticks. Destiny isn’t a pre-written script that you’re forced to follow; it’s a path you build day by day. Don’t just sit around waiting for “fate” to hand you a win. If you want something, go get it. If you don’t like where you are, move.
Don’t just sit around waiting for “fate” to hand you a win. If you want something, go get it. If you don’t like where you are, move. Because in the end, you are the one holding the pen.
