If you’ve read my previous post about my Morning Routine, you know that I’m dedicated to my daily exercise. But to be honest, I wasn’t always this way. In fact, I used to be quite lazy and didn’t want to work out at all. The very thought of it just felt exhausting.
So, how did I change?
It all started back when I was around 15. I needed to prepare myself for Reserve Forces Training (Ruksadindan)-a program for high school students in Thailand who want to gain military skills and avoid the draft at age 21. I was determined to pass, so I forced myself into a strict routine.
I started jogging every day after school and incorporated push-ups and sit-ups at exactly 16:00. At first, it felt like a chore, but as the days turned into weeks, something shifted. I actually fell in love with the exercise. I realized I preferred cardio over weight training, which is probably why I gained weight so quickly later on-I wasn’t doing enough strength training!
Fast forward 13 years, and I’m still trying my best to keep that routine alive. Of course, life happens, and sometimes I miss a session, but the foundation is still there.
One thing that makes exercising fun for me is the community. Sometimes my girlfriend joins me, or I hit the pavement with my “High School Bros.” One of them has been my best friend since those school days; we still talk and banter with each other constantly. Having people to exercise with turns a tough workout into an enjoyable social activity.
However, if you’re an introvert like me, there’s another great option: home workouts. Buying some equipment for your own space can be a game-changer. But personally, I still love jogging in the park the most-nothing beats a change of scenery and a breath of fresh air to clear my mind.
What about you guys? How do you make the excercise less tiring? Let me know in the comments!
